A perfect hangout to spend your evenings with family! The Shangumugham beach near Trivandrum airport is one of the best Trivandrum attractions. The vast stretch of white sands and the waves are embracing the shore allure visitors to this beach. It is considered as the Arattukadavu of the Sree Padmanabha Swamy. The idols from the Padmanabhaswamy temple are taken out in procession to the Shangumugham beach for the ceremonial bath on the last festival day.
The Shanghumugham Devi Temple stands nearby. There are small platforms for visitors to sit and watch the astounding sunset and sunrise views at the beach. A horse riding facility is available here. The famous sculpture ‘Sagara Kanyaka’ by the renowned sculptor Kanayi Kunhiraman stands proud near the beach. There’s also a children’s park near the beach with rides for both adults and children.
