Here’s an insight into the rich and glorious culture and history of Kerala! The Napier art and history museum built-in 1855 is a classic example of the gothic architecture style. It has an exceptional collection of ornaments, bronze idols, chariots and ivory carvings on display. Works portraying Rajput, Mughal and Tanjore schools of art along with works by Chinese, Japanese and Tibetan artists & Japanese leather figures on Mahabharata and Ramayana are a significant attraction for tourists.
The Museum compound also houses the oldest zoological garden of India with a lake and boat club. The Sree Chithra Art Gallery is also a part of the Museum. All these make the Napier Museum one of the most visited Trivandrum tourist places.
