Take time out to visit the highest echelon of the state, Secretariat, a famous landmark located in the heart of the city. The Roman and Dutch style heritage building complex was built in 1939 and was called Puthen Kacheri. In 1949 it was renamed the Government Secretariat & 2 other blocks were constructed nearby. The centre block (Durbar Hall) is now a venue for State ceremonies and meetings.
