Rock cut cave temple
Cave Temple

A highly ornate model of 8th-century art! The Vizhinjam Rock cut cave temple is considered to be the smallest rock-cut shrine in southern India. It houses a one-celled shrine of Vinandhara Dakshinamurthi with the outer wall depicting an unfinished statue of Lord Shiva holding a bow and Parvathi on either side. The  Vizhinjam Rock cut cave temple is currently under the control of Archaeological Survey of India.
